The pagan mythology of pre-Christian Scandinavia and its later appropriations and recycling.
NORD_V 340 (3) S·mi Histories and Cultures
Cultural history of the S·mi peoples, the Indigenous peoples of northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia's Kola Peninsula. Focus on traditional culture, colonization, and decolonization.
NORD_V 341 (3) Indigenous Activism
Examination of contemporary political and social conflicts in the circumpolar north, focusing on ways Indigenous people have used art, performance and activism as a tool for resistance and decolonization. This course is not eligible for Credit/D/Fail grading.
