Economists are increasingly using data science and statistical methods to provide credible answers to policy relevant questions. Powerful computers allow for the analysis of large data sets (e.g., satellite data) and sophisticated methods ensure that estimated relationships are causal rather than less-meaningful correlations.
The Data Analytics major trains students to address issues in the food and environmental sectors with a unique combination of applied economics and powerful data analysis.
